The new European chemical legislation, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals; EC No. 1907/2006) entered into force on 1 June 2007. This new law presents a tremendous change to supply chain management and companies both within and out of the European Union are preparing for compliance.
REACH requires a chemical-by-chemical approach. It creates a single system of chemicals regulation: some 30,000 chemical substances used today will be registered over a period of 11 years in a central public database administered by a new European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) located in Helsinki (Finland). REACH applies to manufacturers, downstream users and importers of chemicals within the EU. They have to prove that substances are safe to use and that they control the risks to human health and the environment.
In the seminar we will:
1) Make a brief introduction on the regulation;
2) Go through examples to clarify some of the important concepts;
3) Describe our approach to handle REACH
4) Describe the VDE-Chemical Lab services for REACH:
a) Test for SVHCs;
b) Preparation of MSDS, BOS and related documents;
c) Consulting and documents review
We would like to invite you to join us at our REACH seminar.
